2012 Spring Fling Was A Huge Success To Kick
Off The Season
The CPFHA hosted another wonderful show held on March 31 at the
Pomona Fairplex. The caliber of the horses and exhibitors made this one
day event memorable for everyone. Our judge, Alex Zapata, took the time
to speak to every exhibitor in the line-up which was so appreciated.
A big
THANK YOU goes out to Jennifer Fisher who made and donated the beautiful
halter bags for each championship winner, and to each of our financial
sponsors. The show could not go on without you. As with all the CPFHA
shows, our volunteers work so hard to make the show a success from the
early planning stages to the show itself including the pickup and
delivery of the sounding boards. A huge thank you goes out to everyone
that participated.
After
the show, we presented the 2011 High Point Awards at our pizza party on
the show grounds. One of the highlights was the presentation of
the 2011 Trainer of the Year award to Steven Lopez.
We hope
everyone who attended had a good show and above all, enjoyed the day
with our wonderful Paso Finos.

Mark Russell Clinic At Rancho Toledano In
June
Mark Russell will conduct a dressage clinic at Rancho Toledano in
June. Mark is known for his gentle dressage horsemanship. His work
delivers the best of classical dressage and natural horsemanship making
it appropriate for all disciplines. Mark prefers to work privately
with his students. Students sign up for 3 lesson days or a 4thlesson
(depending on availability) and audit the rest of the clinic riders on
off days. Mark’s work is for English or Western riders including all
sports, such as reining, gaited breeds, cow work and those who want to
learn how to promote the benefits of suppleness and flexion in the horse
in order to achieve lightness to the aids.
Mark
Russell’s book “Lessons in Lightness,” has put him in the forefront in
Classical dressage for all disciplines. The book and style, available at
Amazon.com has been reviewed as “Artistic Equitation.” An important
read!
Due
to the Mark’s format of individual attention, spaces for this clinic are
limited to 8 riders per day. Auditors welcome.
$650
clinic fee includes horse board, breakfast, lunch and lessons for 3
days.
If space
allows an additional lesson day may be fit into an individual’s package
at an additional fee. Students are invited to make arrangements to stay
in guest lodging w/dinner for additional fee.
